MFT Wednesday Stamp Club 8

Here is this week's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch. It is not too late to play along for a chance to win a gift voucher to My Favorite Things.

This is my card for this week's sketch. I flipped it on its side. It was a beautiful day today and it made we wish for a day at the beach. I used this week's sketch from MFT along with the stamp set called Fred Bear Hits the Beach. The waves are MFT's Die-namics. The little sandcastle is from the Beach Bum set from Pure Innocence. The cloud paper is from My Mind's Eye.

Luckily for me I do not have to wait for long to go to the beach. I am heading down to Cape May, NJ on Friday for a girl's weekend. I can't wait!

MFT Guest DT Challenge

Don't adjust your screen! This one is in black and white. The theme for this month's guest designer challenge from MFT is to get Die-mensional by adding dimension to your card using Die-namics.

I used the Decorative Doily and Decorative Lace Edge Die-namics, as well as the new Music Notes Die-namic that came with the March VIP kit. The main image is from this month's VIP kit as well, called "Who's That Musical Girl?" The kit also came with Music Note Die-namics that I accidently threw in the trash. Once I realized they were missing I had to search the trash for the packing slip that they were taped to. Disaster averted! The background paper is from the Take Note digit paper pack from MFT. This was a first for me using a monochromatic color scheme for my coloring. I am usually a bold color girl, but this time I used all my grey Copic markers to color her in black and white. The black layer behind the image is surrounded by tiny rhinestones. Both the black satin ribbon and the pleated ribbon are from MFT as well. One of my favorite things on this card is the silver mesh flower. It came in the mail this week with my order from Close to my Heart. It is a beautiful shimmery silver in person.

I'll be back tomorrow with this week's Wednesday Stamp Club card.

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club 7

Wow! What a busy week this has been. I have been cutting and prepping for a card class next weekend, as well as putting together 105 name tags and gift tags. My poor paper cutter is smoking from the overwork.

I managed to finish last week's Wednesday stamp club, but forgot to post it here before I deleted it. Oh well. I got this past week's done today. Just in time for sketch 8 to be released tomorrow.

For this sketch I used MFT's Feelin' Fruity to make a thank you card. This stamp set is so cute and it has been quite a while since I used it. I added a bit of Crystal Effects to the cherries to give them a bit of shine. The design paper is from the Tickled Pink paper pack by My Mind's Eye. I used a bit of ribbon from MFT and a line of rhinestones that I got at the dollar spot at JoAnn's.

Hopefully I will get a chance to stamp tomorrow, but Wednesday is usually a busy day. Have a great night. Think SPRING!

Wednesday Stamp Club 5

It has been a very long week. My beloved computer needed a new hard drive and I lost everything that was on my old hard drive except for one program I needed for work. I have spent most of the weekend trying to restore what I could, but unfortunately I lost all of my digital stamps and all of my digit paper packs. I was able to get some of them back by contacting the stamp companies I bought them from. Thanks Pink Cat Studio and Heather Ellis-Pure Innocence. After working for two days on restoring my programs, I did manage to spend an hour or so down in my stamp room to finally complete last week's Wednesday Stamp Club sketch. I used the Pure Innocence stamp set called Peek-a-boo and paired it with paper from the My Mind's Eye paper pack called Tickled Pink.

Back to work. Have a good evening.

MFT Guest Designer Challenge and then some...

This weekend was the beginning of the Guest Designer Challenge from My Favorite Things. This month's theme was "Recipe for Love." The challenge was to use ONE design paper, TWO cardstock colors beside the neutral base, and THREE embellishments. For my project I used the new Wings paper pack from Close to My Heart. I paired it was Vineyard Berry and Sweet Leaf cardstock. For my three embellishments, I used rhinestones, flowers, and ribbon. The stamps include "Key to My Heart" a la mode and "Clearly Sentimental about You." Of course I just had to use some Die-namics as well. I used the Mini Rolled Rose die, the Layered Label Die, and the Dainty Dots Border die. Since the theme was "recipe" I decided to make a box instead of a card, the perfect place to put all the love notes from your sweetie!

For my next card, I used Polka Dot Greetings to complete the Mojo Monday sketch from this week. I pulled out the Curio paper pack from Basic Grey as my design paper and paired it with Hot Fudge and Wild Cherry cardstock from MFT. I used the Flower Border Die-namic along the curve and filled the centers with red crystals. To add a little pop, I made a flower with the Rolled Rose Die-namic from the MFT felt and added some branch punches on either side.

My final card today is a sympathy card from my friend, Kim, whose dad died yesterday. Again, I used the Curio paper pack from Basic Grey layered with Kraft and Hot Fudge cardstock. For the main image, I used the Flower Silhouette Die-namic and stamp set and colored them with Copics. The sentiment is from Verve's "Notes of Prayer" stamp set. I also used the Flower Border Die-namic again and filled the holes with pearls. Ivory ribbon from MFT's Royalty Ribbon Nest completes the card.

Well since most of the east coast of the US is being hammered by a major winter storm, stay safe and stay warm!
