MFTWSC21

It's been a while since I have had time to play in my stamp room, but since the boys went back to school today I finally had some time. I got a chance to complete last weeks MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge just in time for the new one to be released tomorrow. I used the MFT Die-namic and stampset called "Own Your Story." The design paper is from Lily Bee's Picket Fence paper pack.

Hopefully I will have time to play again this week, but since I am working on a graduation invitation order, who knows?

CPS218

This week I got a chance to play with the Card Positioning System sketch from Sunday. There is something about the My Mind's Eye paper that made me reach for the Pure Innocence Pucker Up set from MFT. Isn't she cute?

To accent along the bottom, I pulled out the Die-namics Fishtail Banner dies. The more I use these the more I love them. I had the kraft parts left from another card, so all I had to do was cut the accents. I strung the banner on Twinery Twine and added Bella Donuts to the sides.

Happy Friday!

TMS Meets MFT

This week the theme for Tuesday Morning Sketches is Crayon Resist. This is a technique I never tried, but I gave it a whirl anyway. I didn't have any glossy cardstock so I used plain smooth finish cardstock and it seemed to work pretty well. To make my background paper, I used Close to my Heart's Rustic Flowers set and colored the flowers with a white crayon stolen from my son's crayon box, but left the centers uncolored. I sponged over the flowers with Buttercup ink from CTMH. I then sponged over flower centers with Key Lime ink, then wiped all of the flowers with a paper towel to remove the excess ink.

I chose to use this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch for this card too. For my main image, I chose the new Who's That Girl from MFT called "Girls Rule." The sidewalk and grass where added with markers. With all the daisies on the card so far I chose to accent the bottom with a Die-namics Rolled Daisy. The center of the daisy is a pearl stick pin that came with last months MFT VIP Kit. The scalloped border along the bottom is a Die-namics die too.

May Blast From the Past Blog Hop

It is time for another edition of the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop. This month's theme was Masculine. With that thought in mind, I decided to make a Father's Day card for my dad. My dad has quite a collection of ties. The more obnoxious the better! I used the Social Club paper pad from October Afternoon as my base because it reminded me of a man's tie. The stamp set from Taylored Expressions is called "Boys Will Be Boys."

Please remember to check out all of the participants blogs to see what the other girls have come up with for this theme. A complete list of participants is listed below so keep hopping!

Correction--

This has been a busy week and I just not got a chance to play along with last week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club. This sketch was so cool I really wanted to give it a try. I used the new stamp and Die-namic set called Just My Type and paired it with the Die-namics Fishtail Banner. As I went through my stamps to find an alphabet set to go in the circles of the banner die, I found the Close to my Heart set called Typewriter Keys. Perfect match! The design paper is from Lily Bee's Picket Fence paper pad.

Here is a shot of the inside of the card. I used the scraps from the front to basket weave an accent on the inside. This card is for a 40th birthday party on Saturday.

Have a great day!

Birthday Invites

It is birthday season here. These are the invitations I made for my son's 9th birthday sleep-over. He wanted to invite three friends to go to the Philadelphia Soul game and then for a sleep-over. I used the Pure Innocence stamp called Football Boy and accented it with Die-namics Stars, both from My Favorite Things.

I modeled the card from last week's Tuesday Morning Sketch, but since I did not have the sketch in front of me I missed a few elements. Have a great night!

Tuesday Morning Sketch on Sunday

Wow! This week really got away with me, but...

I finally got a chance to play along with last week's Tuesday Morning Sketch. It took a while to sort through my stamps to find one small enough to fit the sketch, but I ended up with this cute little turtle from Stamping Bella called Amimals Turtle. The design paper is My Mind's Eye-Stella Rose and I used Die-namics Circle Border on the bottom of the card.

MFT Guest DT Challenge May 2011

This month's guest designer challenge was "Blue Jeans and Bling." Luckily for me I had a bag of old clothes to go to get rid of so I pulled out a pair of old jeans and started cutting. It made me feel kind of guilty to cut up a perfectly good pair of jean to make a card. Oh well!

For my card, I used My Mind's Eye Stella Rose paper for the background and then added lots of Die-namics flowers and leaves.
This is a close-up of the flowers.

This is the tag that fits in the pocket. The top of the tag was cut with the Bracket Edge Die-namic die. I used the Textile Rectangle stamp set and Die-namic die. The flower is the reverse side of the background paper cut with the Pretty Posies Die-namic die. The flower center is felt with a large rhinestone in the center.

That's all for today. We are heading to my hubby's softball game. L8R!
