This week's Bellarific Friday was a sketch challenge. I just love sketches! I used my new Mavis stamp called Mavis Builds a Sandcastle. Isn't she just adorable. The design paper is all from a beach stack of paper I got last summer and just now opened.

Wednesday Stamp Club 6/16/10
Yesterday the new Wednesday Stamp Club challenge was posted in the MFT Forum on Splitcoast. The challenge this week was a color challenge of red, green, and yellow. I went with a mish mash of papers for this card. The yellow is from MFT's Spring Paper Pack and the green is from Basic Grey. I used Joline for this card since she reminds me of me outside watering my geraniums. I used the sketch from yesterday's sketch challenge on SCS. Each of the flowers is accented with a little yellow rhinestone.

Father's Day
I finally finished the last of my Father's Day cards for this year. My dad is a huge train guy. Him and my mom plan vacations around seeing trains and train layouts. I used a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil for the main image and Clearly Sentimental about Vacations from MFT.
The second card uses TV Riley from Riley and Company. I used some of the left over baseball paper from my boys birthday invitations, as well as some baseball stickers I have had lying around for years.

I figured it was safe to post them on here since none of the men in my life ever read this. If I am not back before Sunday, enjoy a great Father's Day with your men!

Summer Mode
Even though it is not summer yet, I am already losing my crafting momentum. I began an exercise plan yesterday and it is kicking my butt! All I can think about afterwards is a shower, some ibuprofen, and a nap. It is also baseball playoff season here and that is making for a hectic schedule. Plus the fact that I am trying to catch up on paperwork that has been long neglected. I have a project sitting on my table waiting to be completed so hopefully I will get it done soon and have time to post it here if, that is, I can walk down the stairs...

New Blog Decor
Welcome to my newly decorated blog. I know, I know. I just changed it last week, but I found a really cool site and decided to redecorate again. This blog background is just so colorful and fun I could not resist.
I got to spend a little time down in my playroom today and here is what I came up with. I completed the Wednesday Stamp Club from MFT using the Mojo sketch and also the Viva la Verve sketch from last week. Below are the details.
Stamps: Going Green (MFT)
Paper: MFT
Ink: Copic Ciao Markers
Diecuts: Die-namics Sun and Scallops
Embellishments: Ribbon, Cork, Buttons, Waxy Flax

A Couple More
Got a bit more stamping time in today. So as I sit here watching Twilight, I figured I might as well share them. I can't wait for the next Twilight movie to open at the end of the month, so I decided to watch the movies again while I have the evening to myself.
I did two more sketch cards today. The first one is the Taylored Expressions sketch from last Friday and the second is Viva La Verve sketch also from last Friday.
Here are the details for the Boy and the Dog:
Stamp: Dog Gone Cute by MFT
DP: MFT
Embellishments: Bella Dot, Die-namics Grass, Die-namics Clouds

One of Those Days
Ever just have one of those days? Well yesterday was that for me.Nothing went according to plan. It has been a rough week overall around here. We had our dog put to sleep last Wednesday and I have been in a funk ever since. Over the weekend we celebrated both of our boys birthdays with a big picnic. It was fun, but a lot of work. The boys got a pool from Grandma and Grandpa for their birthday and yesterday I found out that it will cost us a ton of money in fees, fencing, and permits to put it up in the backyard. It is only a 3 foot pool from Walmart, but this town looks at all pools the same from $150 Walmart pool to $30,000 in-ground pool. Well enough ranting...
I did manage to stamp a little yesterday, but even that did not go as well as I would have liked. It was the blackboard that was giving me fits. At first I stamped the sentiment with white ink, but before I got the card done, I smudged it with my thumb. So I tried wiping it off but that made it worse. So instead I decided to color over it and that worked a little. The blackboard definitely looks like the ones in my kids school, well used. For my next go at the sentiment, I stamped it on the green in black and then wrote over it with a white marker. This worked much better and dried much quicker. Next I went on to work on the books. I wanted to add some ribbon to the square, but ended up wasting a ton of ribbon because I could not get the ribbon to look right.

Oh well. It came out okay in the end and now I have a card for my son's teacher. Hope your day was better than mine.

MFT June Guest Designer Challenge
This month's Guest Designer challenge was "Some Like It Hot." It seems that come summertime, the hottest place at my house is my garden. My poor little flowers just cry out for a cool drink. I used the Pure Innocence set "Bloomin' Good Day" as my main image and then added lots of goodies to form her garden. The sky is made up of MFT's organdy ribbon from the summer ribbon collection and Die-namics clouds diecuts. The tag is the large cloud from the Die-namics cloud set. The sun was punched using Martha Stewart flower punch and layering it with a button center. The grass is also a Marthe Stewart punch, as well as the stems for the flowers.
